Common questions
Can Shopify merge duplicate customers?
Yes, two profiles at a time. Shopify's admin can merge a pair of customer profiles from a customer's page, but it doesn't search your list for duplicates and can't merge many groups at once. Twinfold finds the duplicates across your whole store and merges them in bulk through Shopify's own merge.
How does Twinfold decide two customers are duplicates?
It matches email variants (different case, a "+tag", or dots in a Gmail address), a phone number from one profile on another profile's address when the names match, and identical names with the same address. Every group shows which of these matched and a confidence level.
Can a merge be undone?
No. Shopify merges can't be undone, so Twinfold previews every merge, lets you choose which profile to keep, and only merges after you tick a confirmation. Uncertain matches are set aside for you to review by hand.
Is Twinfold free?
Scanning is always free, and the Free plan includes 25 merges per month. Pay as you go charges $0.05 per merge after the first 25 each billing cycle, under a spending limit you set. Unlimited is $9.99 per month.
Does Twinfold store my customers' personal data?
No. Customer names, emails, phones and addresses are read live from Shopify when a page needs them and are never stored by the app. Twinfold keeps only Shopify customer IDs for duplicate groups and the merge history.
